NEW INVESTMENT MODULE
In MIDAS, the Investment Inputs like Sales & Purchase are handled by a separate Investment Module which processes them for reporting & posting in General Ledger Module. In fact MIDAS has complete transparency between the two Modules. Both MIDAS Modules are completely ONLINE and INTEGRATED to offer instant & updated Reports. The General Accounting System used for Investment Accounting will handle both the General Ledger & the Investment Inputs together |

INSTRUMENT LEVEL IDENTIFICATION
MIDAS gives you the facility of individually identifying each Investment Instrument like Shares, Debentures, Bonds, Units etc. For example, each Share Lot has its own Share Certificate Numbers, Distinctive Numbers & Quantity, thus making it different from all other Share Lots. While selling Shares, you can identify the particular lots to be sold.
In a General Accounting System, the Products are assumed to be identical.

NEW POSTING METHOD
The Book Posting method of Investment Sales & Purchase is quite different from that of General Ledger Sales & Purchase. In MIDAS, each Sale or Purchase is posted against an Investment Account & a Cash/Bank/Party Account. l\~en the Investment is converted (i.e. the Instruments purchased are sold and vice versa) the Amounts are posted against an Investment Account and an Profit/Loss Account. The Investment Registers and Profit & Loss Statements are always updated and reconciled after each Transaction. In a General Accounting System, the Sales & Purchases are posted against respective Ledgers and the difference is posted in Profit & Loss Account later.
MIDAS allows you to optionally follow the Journal based Accounting system. |

TRANSACTION HANDLING
Each Investment Transaction affects the General Ledger and Investment Stock-In-Hand Quantities.
MIDAS allows you to enter the General Ledger Part of an Investment Transaction without entering the Investment part For example, you have purchased Shares & the Certificates are yet to be delivered. Enter Purchase Transaction without the Certificate Details now. When available, enter the rest of the details. Each Lot can have any number of Certificates with each Certificate covering any number of Units.
